Paducah Bank TV Spot Wins Three National TELLY Awards
Paducah, KY – Paducah Bank’s newest television commercial has received multiple TELLY awards in the 2021 national competition for local, regional, and cable video projects.
The television spot won a Silver Award for Cinematography, a Silver Award for Directing, and a Bronze Award for Local TV/General Bank.
The TELLY awards recognize outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and video projects. Winners represent the best work of advertising agencies, production companies, and corporate video departments in the country.
The bank won for its production of a commercial titled “This Is Home-Mia.” The commercial featured high school senior Mia Vasquez pondering thoughts of where life will take her while remembering that Paducah will always be “home.”
“We originally created this commercial when Mia was 11 years old and filmed it in our magnificent Columbia Theater in downtown Paducah,” says Susan Guess, Senior Vice President at Paducah Bank. “Paducah Bank has long been the only locally owned bank in Paducah, and we often focus our communications on our connection to our hometown. Mia was very involved with the Market House Theater as a young girl, and we kept thinking about all the stages that she might eventually find herself performing on. So we decided to craft a commercial pondering the notion that no matter how far we roam, we always remember where we started.”
In 2019, Paducah Bank looked back on Mia’s young life prior to her graduation and produced a new commercial, again filmed inside the historic Columbia Theater, to show her transition from child to young woman. “We actually won seven TELLY awards for the original commercial back in 2014,” Guess adds. “I think this idea just resonates with all of us that wherever we may find ourselves in our lives through the years, our hometown holds a very special place in our heart.
“We were thrilled to get this notification,” Guess adds. “This video is just one more piece of the bank’s overriding mission to not only provide exceptional financial products and services, but to lift up all that is wonderful about our hometown. Our team of marketing creatives did a terrific job of bringing our message to the community.”
The television commercial was written by Darlene Mazzone, President of Mazzone Communications, and produced by Curt Stewart of Emerging Media Productions under the supervision of Guess. “In this business there is really nothing more gratifying than a collaboration that results in something wonderful like this Paducah Bank production,” commented Mazzone.
“It is terrific to be able to bring home another set of awards this year,” commented Curt Stewart. “We won several awards earlier for our first iteration of this commercial. Obviously, the bank and our creative team are producing quality work in our hometown that’s being recognized on a national basis. That’s a win/win for Paducah Bank and Paducah!”
The TELLY awards honor excellence in video and television across all screens and is judged by a group of leading video and television experts from some of the most prestigious companies in entertainment, publishing, and advertising, such as WarnerMedia, NBC News, and Vimeo, just to name a few. “We find ourselves in really good company,” Guess adds. “Winners included such celebrities as Jennifer Garner and production studios like Netflix, Nickelodeon, and Condé Nast.”
